The great apartment search is over

Finding an apartment in Zurich is rather difficult because there is high demand and short supply. Usually when you find a good apartment, twenty other people have found it before you. The owner then gets his choice of tenant. All things being equal, the probability of being chosen is around one in twenty. A colleague of mine viewed thirty apartments over four months before being chosen for one. I was lucky to view only six. The breakthrough came with the sixth apartment: I was able to view it before the public showing. The owner decided I was a suitable tenant immediately and now it is mine! I move there in February. Then the great furniture search will begin.
